Surface Transportation Corp. was controlled by the Third Avenue Transit Corp. and was taken over in March 1962 by the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority. In 1945, Surface Transit operated 308 buses over 198 route miles. NY628A and NY628B were only used at the end of one line, in turnstiles.
